Help Us Connect Our Next App to Your Library Holdings

Physicians need to stay up to date on the latest medical research and topic reviews to provide optimal care.  Unfortunately, the process of content discovery is broken with research artificially compartmentalized by publishers and hidden behind institutional and personal paywalls.

‘Read by QxMD’ takes advantage of the iPad form factor to provide a beautiful interface that drives discovery and seamless access to the medical literature by reformatting it into a personalized digital, interactive magazine.

Think Flipboard meets Pubmed.

Knowledge translation – getting new knowledge into clinical practice – is an important and unsolved challenge for our health care system.   ‘Read by QxMD’ hopes to be part of the solution.

As part of our app development process, we need to be sure your library patrons can utilize their credentials to access content within our app (usually via ezproxy). We are looking for your help.

If possible, it would be great to test access to your library holdings using a test username & password.
We are also looking for an alternative method to log a user in by providing the library proxy a username and password directly rather than using the standard browser-based authentication portal.  We want to authenticate a user directly rather than using the standard browser-based authentication portal. Our client will instigate a handshake by providing a username and password directly to the authorizing server for authentication. In addition to authenticating the user, the handshake will be responsible for establishing and returning any relevant session cookies to the client.  If your library electronic journal holdings has a mechanism to achieve this, please let us know!
If you’re able to help us ensure your library is set up for our launch date (our just want to preview or beta test), send us your information:
