Tracking Performance of Medical iPhone Apps

Posted on Aug 9, 2009 in News | 1 comment

At QxMD, we’re very interested in monitoring performance of our medical applications.   We’ve discovered a few outstanding tools to help us do this.

Our favourite so far is Kukapp.com which provides up to date analysis of all our applications.  To achieve best results, one must give Kukapp access to one’s iTunes Connect account (I must say we were hesitant at first, but our concerns have been assuaged). Kukapp monitors the iTunes App Store on an hourly basis, so all sorts of changes are recorded and updated.  This data can then be analyzed and visualized.

Below, you will see how Kukapp shows that as we dropped the price for ‘The ECG Guide’ to $0.99 from $4.99, our rank shot up to number 2 from number 6 in the paid medical app category.  Suggests that medical iPhone App shoppers are highly price sensitive.  Data can be analyzed in a large number of ways – try it yourself to find out more.

Kukapp also does a nice job of showing where our downloads are coming from – looks like the USA accounts for a significant proportion of our downloads.
