A simple operation for hallux rigidus.
Dissatisfaction with the Keller-type operation and the arthrodesis of the first metatarsophalangeal joint in hallux rigidus led to the use of a wedge osteotomy method at the base of the proximal phalanx. Short-term results in 8 patients suggest that further testing of this method should be worthwhile.
