Kallmann syndrome and delayed puberty associated with agenesis of lateral maxillary incisors.

In six adolescents, we documented the association of either Kallmann syndrome or delayed puberty with agenesis of the lateral maxillary incisors. As the neurons secreting gonadotropin-releasing hormone originate from the olfactory placode, this newly recognized association appears to be the clinical expression of a developmental field defect.
